Kwant Klubben is an independent student club at the University of Southern Denmark utilising quantitative finance to investigate financial strategies through code, data, mathematics, and discussion.
New, lean and building.
Kwant Klubben is for everyone with an interest in applying themselves in quantitative finance. It's a field where discussion of ideas has a massive multiplier effect, due to the inherent complexity of the questions we ask.
The work includes research, probability and simulation: reading, coding, testing ideas against data, and working out what the result actually supports. The short-term goal is to establish a community, host events and produce real research papers, and the longer-term goal is to raise capital with partners and implement the strategies we uncover.
What research actually looks like.
Tinkering takes up the vast majority of our time, and diving into that process together is the real value of the club. It is the space where we get our hands dirty by wrestling with new tools, pressure-testing ideas in discussion, and stripping concepts down to their first principles.
Ideation
Take a vague hunch, a raw dataset, or an academic paper and distill it into a single, testable idea.
Tinkering
Write the code, run the tests, and question the result. Deep, rigorous exploration is where the real value is created.
Evaluation
A trading signal, a new codebase, or a proven negative result. Every outcome provides a valuable learning opportunity.
Human ownership.
AI is useful for setup, data plumbing, debugging, explanations and first drafts, and the club uses it openly for all of that. It removes the tedious part of getting to the interesting part.
We emphasize the importance of learning the mechanics behind everything you do. It is about becoming a maker enabled by AI, not a consumer dependent on it. You choose the question, read the sources, understand the code that matters, check the numbers, and decide what the result means.

Who it's for
Open to students from economics, mathematics, computer science and engineering, however much finance and programming you arrive with.
What's expected
Engagement. Take something on, tell people what you found. Around exams and when life gets busy that dips, everyone here is a student and that is understood.
